Translate & Search is designed to do its job with a minimal, practical approach to data use.
What the extension uses
The web tool holds your query and editable translation in the current page. The extension reads supported search URLs and queries to decide whether to translate and build a search URL.
The website has no user accounts and does not save query history. The extension saves preferences, recent target languages, and recent action feedback locally in browser storage.
What is not collected for its own sake
Translate & Search does not treat your searches as a user profile, does not provide a social feed, and is not designed around selling personal data.
Third-party services
The online tool sends queries to Google for translation. The extension currently tries Microsoft Bing translation, then Google. A search sends the original or translated query to the selected search engine. These providers process requests under their own policies. Hosting providers may retain access logs, such as IP addresses and request times.
